ABC-CES
The constitution of the ABC Ethics Council (CE-ABC) was approved by the ABC Executive Council on December 16, 2020.
It is the responsibility of the CE-ABC to ensure the observance of high ethical standards in the field of research, training or healthcare in areas of the health sciences, in order to protect and guarantee human dignity and integrity. Thus, the CE-ABC is responsible for issuing opinions and recommendations on ethical issues in the field of ABC research, training or health care activities, on its own initiative or upon written request. Their opinions are not binding, without prejudice to what is determined in the legal regime relating to clinical trials in human beings.
The CE-ABC Regulation (soon to be available) will be approved by the ABC Executive Committee.
The CE-ABC held its first meeting on February 25, 2021 and meets, under the terms of the law, once a month. The meetings are held electronically, for duration yet to be determined, in view of the contingencies and guidelines of the competent authorities.
The possibility is reserved when necessary, and in duly substantiated situations, to be able to meet extraordinarily.

DOCUMENTS AND LEGISLATION
The Ethics Appraisal Procedure focuses on compliance with ethical norms and standards, applicable legislation, national and international conventions and declarations, national authorizations and ethical approvals, proportionality of methods and awareness of proponents with regard to compliance with high ethical standards . In this way, the CE-ABC will seek to provide documentation that can support the reflection and creation of ethical values in the design and conduct of research processes.
