Active Ageing
The ABC - Algarve Biomedical Center, has the Reference Center for Active and Healthy Ageing, recognized in European terms, and has been working hard on the development of new strategies and new models for the promotion of active ageing, aiming to provide health care and high quality well-being, namely, in the scope of osteoarticular, cardiovascular and respiratory rehabilitation, with a differentiating focus on the promotion of an active and healthy life.

- SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS;
- POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
In the field of promoting knowledge in health, active aging and healthy lifestyles, some projects in the area of Active Aging stand out, such as the A3 - (Algarve Active Ageing) and the Repensa Network (Portuguese Network for Active and Healthy Aging).
Esta Rede Portuguesa, constituída pelos 4 Centros de Referência Nacionais, Porto4Ageing, Ageing@Coimbra, Lisbon-AHA e o Algarve Active Ageing, é um elo de comunicação e informação para todos os agentes envolvidos no Envelhecimento Saudável e Ativo em Portugal. Este ecossistema permite estimular a criação de sinergias entre parceiros, criar e desenvolver projetos inovadores que vão de encontro das necessidades dos idosos e que permitam melhorar a sua qualidade de vida.

O Algarve Active Ageing é um ecossistema que oferece soluções criativas e viáveis que melhoram a qualidade de vida e a saúde das pessoas idosas. Este é um consórcio de inúmeras organizações na ótica da hélice quadrupla (academia, governança, empresas e sociedade civil), que trabalham de forma colaborativa no desenvolvimento de soluções inovadoras que possam ter impacto nas populações.
