On April 23, the protocol was signed between the ABC-Algarve Biomedical Center, Instituto Superior Técnico, Hidrofer and Logoplaste, which ensures the production of sample collection kits for the laboratory detection of the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2.

This project aims to cover the current needs of swabs at the national level and also foresees being able to export to other countries.

The signing of the protocol took place at the Technological and Nuclear Campus (CTN) of the Instituto Superior Técnico, where each member of the entities involved, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, and the Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa.

A 100% Portuguese product that results from the union of the state, academic centers and companies to face the current pandemic.
