Portugal is one of the poorest countries in the euro zone and has the fewest beds in intensive care services, but even so it has been a global example in the fight against the new coronavirus.
The result is the result of a joint effort, a lot of work and organization, both by the private and university sector and by a government that came together at a time of pandemic like the current one.
It is also worth highlighting the crucial role that the Portuguese have had not only for respecting the measures and recommendations implemented by the government, but also for the initiatives they had, namely, fundraising to support hospitals and needy citizens, production of protective equipment (PPE's) for healthcare professionals and disinfectant manufacturing.
