The Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC), in partnership with the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences and Medicine of the University of Algarve, created a support structure for Ukrainians who come to Portugal, but also for the community that is already in the country.
ABC is available to provide clinical, psychological and emotional support, in addition to medical evaluations, free of charge, to the community that arrives in Portugal as a refugee from the war with Russia and to Ukrainians who are already in Portugal.
For this purpose, the email firstname.lastname@example.org was created, which is already in operation, through which Ukrainian citizens can ask the Algarve institution for support in terms of medical care, psychosocial support and medicines.
The process with national and regional authorities will be articulated with Valeriya Boshernitsan, a PhD student in Portugal and originally from Ukraine.
ABC has also made itself available to work in collaboration with the various regional entities and with the Loulé City Council, and the municipality expressed its interest in supporting the Ukrainian community.
